Everyone and their mother is on social networking sites. The purpose of Online Social Networking is to make finding and talking to people with shared interests a lot easier and a lot more interactive. In that sense it works well. There seems to be some positive correlation between high level of networked-ness among sales people and their revenue/sales production.

So how effective is it really? It seems to work well, as everyone and their mother are on social networking sites now, but that doesn't mean much.
